Barrow and the Furness area have a wealth of resilient and pro-active communities which we are all a part of and which can help us thrive.
We have more going on locally than you might imagine! The website is here to help you find support through local community groups and organisations, enjoy their weekly activities and special events or connect to your community through volunteering.
Cumbria CVS (Cumbria Council for Voluntary Service) manages this website.
We offer help, advice, training and support to third sector groups throughout Cumbria.
We bring organisations together to form a powerful voice for our sector. Local infrastructure organisations, like us, support over 160,000 local charities and voluntary groups across the country, helping them to thrive and deliver essential services within their communities.
We have dedicated Officers based in Barrow, ensuring we remain connected to local organisations and responsive to local needs. Working closely with Team Barrow partners and the wider VCFSE sector, we will shape activities around what matters most to local groups.
