Saturday 10:00am – 4:30pm.
Sunday 10:00am - 1:30pm.
Over Saturday & Sunday we’ll be creating Barrow’s own Ofrenda with Mexican artist Ale Bravo.
What is an Ofrenda?
"An ofrenda is a Mexican tradition created during Día de Muertos to remember and celebrate the lives of loved ones who we have lost. It is a place for memory, affection and connection, filled with photographs, flowers, candles, food and other meaningful details that remind us of the people, and pets, we miss.
Across Mexico, ofrendas vary enormously from region to region and from family to family, but at their heart they are about keeping the memory of loved ones present and celebrating the lives they lived." - Ale Bravo
As part of Barrow’s Day of the Dead celebrations, we invite you to help create a community ofrenda. You can remember anyone who was important to you, whether a family member, friend or beloved pet.
You are welcome to bring a copy of a photograph, write a message, draw a picture or bring something simple that represents them. Please don’t leave precious or irreplaceable objects; if there is something special you would like to include, a photograph or drawing of it is perfect.
