When I was little, my grandma used to tell me stories about a little girl called Marigold, who would go on lots of adventures. We always said we’d write the stories down one day… but somehow, we never did.

Then I started wondering…

How many wonderful stories are still waiting to be written down?

I’m sure there is one that belongs to you.

So, Marigold’s next adventure is to collect and grow as many unwritten stories, from Barrow and beyond, in Marigold’s Garden of Stories!

Come and meet Ruth Mary Johnson and craft your story into flower books and watch your stories grow!

Part of BarrowFull’s Day of The Dead Celebrations 26th October - 1st November.

You can also share your story digitally to be included in Marigold’s online archive of stories.

It could be:

  • a tale you have been told by someone you care about,
  • a story you have made up yourself or with someone else,
  • a short story, a tall tale or an anecdote,
  • the best (and cleanest) joke you have ever been told!
  • a recipe, passed down by generations, telling a tale of meals shared,
  • a half-forgotten memory you want to remember about a time you spent with someone,
  • your thoughts on why we should treasure stories that are gifted to us.

You can draw, write or record your story as a photo, pdf, audio or video recording and send it to toldbymarigolds@gmail.com
