Wixárika Bead Art: Symbols, Colour & Tradition, Wednesday 28th October

6:30 - 9:00pm.

Age: 18+

Discover the extraordinary bead art of the Wixárika people of Mexico in this creative workshop for adults with Ale Bravo, founder of The Navel of the Moon.

Through a short illustrated introduction, explore the culture, symbolism and traditions behind Wixárika beadwork and discover how colour and intricate patterns can carry meanings connected to nature, spirituality and the Wixárika worldview.

You’ll then have the opportunity to work with colourful beads and traditional-inspired patterns to create your own piece inspired by this remarkable art form.

Part of BarrowFull’s Day of The Dead Celebration.
