Furness Model Railway Club

The aim of the Furness Model Railway Club, which is a non-profit making organisation, is to encourage the hobby of model railways and model engineering by co-operative effort in the acquiring and interchange of knowledge, practical help, exhibitions of work finished or under construction, also the development of the club, club life and the hobby in general.

The clubrooms and facilities in the park are open to all members of the society. For dates, times and location please contact Russ Peters, Chairman (fmrc.chair@talktalk.net).

In the clubrooms they build and maintain layouts in scales from N to OO, members can acquires skills such as woodworking and electrica together with scenery production. At the park track, members can learn how to drive and maintain live steam and battery powered engines, where rides can be undertaken by members of the public. (Fine Sunday afternoons, throughout the year).

The club also hold an annual exhibition, the second full weekend in October, where models from the club are brought together with those from other parts of the country.
