As a Furness For You partner, Brathay offers a social group for children aged 11 to 16 years and one-to-one youth worker support.

Our social group runs weekly on a Wednesday evening. The aim to bring young people together who experience loneliness and social isolation. We have a strong core of young people who engage in this opportunity and welcome newcomers on a referral basis. (Please use this link or scan the QR code to submit a referral form.)

Alongside social group, our youth workers provide 1-2-1 sessions with the young people, these are either held in their school setting, or within the community, such as cafe's libraries, College House, The bridge or even a walking and talking session in and around Barrow. We aim to provide an experience that is best suited to the young person and what makes them feel the most comfortable to talk to our youth workers.

During the school holidays we work with the young people to plan a series of day trips and activities that promote socialisation and engagement within their community. We have recently visited the Trafford Centre, Brathay Hall in Ambleside on a 3-day residential, Blackpool pleasure beach, Walney Island Nature Reserve, Roanhead Beach & several youth events in and around Barrow.
