Earnse Project

A new, inclusive outdoor hub will be created at Earnse Bay, on Walney, to connect local communities and visitors alike with open spaces, nature and education.

The hub will forge a link between people of all ages in Barrow with this uniquely beautiful coastal location overlooking the Irish Sea.

Connections will be made through physical activity, fun, learning, and social prescribing to lever long term benefits for health and wellbeing, sustainability and the environment.

The Earnse Project, paty of the #Brillant Barrow initiative, intends to operate from the new community space and will be delivered across the town. The project is currently working to curate activities with communities to ignite their passion and enable more people to connect with the natural world, including exploring the development of an education programme delivered from the beach school, a wide range of volunteering opportunities, engagement with the arts, wellbeing programme and the creation of more biodiverse green spaces with communities across Barrow.
