Furness Refugee Support

Furness Refugee Support is a small, registered charity run by volunteers without paid staff. They work to support refugees and people seeking asylum that live in our community. They do this in lots of ways. They can help with practical support, such as going shopping, creating a home, going to appointments, learning English and dealing with agencies like the job centre. They also provide a regular programme of learning, networking and access to volunteering.

They work collaboratively with Furness Multicultural Community Forum, the Salvation Army, Westmorland and Furness Council, Signal Film and Media and Art Gene.

If you'd like to support Furness Refugee Support you can visit their Facebook page and ask to join. This is a closed group for people in Barrow and the surrounding area who want to help refugees who have been resettled in our area as well as those still in refugee camps across Europe.
