Stitch Ability is a project under the umbrella of A Stitch Different CIC, aimed at empowering individuals within the community who may experience isolation and loneliness. With training and experience in neural differences, anxiety, behaviour and sensory using through creative and practical activities to start a conversation. This social enterprise focuses on engaging with the participants, finding their unique interests and using this within a business model. From administration, marketing, manufacturing to sales and customer service. They teach new skills in a supportive environment, fostering independence and boosting self-confidence among participants. Stitch Ability also provides employment opportunities, enabling participants to create handcrafted items using recycled fabrics and bespoke printed items, t-shirts, hoodies, mugs, for sale and to order.
Their work impacts the community by promoting inclusion, creativity and skill development, enriching the lives of individuals while benefiting the wider local community. The program focuses on individuals who often face barriers in accessing real-life work experiences, offering a supportive relaxed environment where they can learn and grow. Through this initiative, participants not only develop skills but also boost their confidence and independence, making a positive impact on their personal and professional lives.
A Stitch Difference CIC - As trained sleep practitioners with specialisms in CBTi they are able to work with individuals and families, using clinically proven behavioral support strategies to improve/resolve sleep issues, which in turn can improve many areas of life, health, behaviour, employment, education, relationships, etc. They can also create bespoke weighted products and therapeutic sensory items to aid the individual. When approached regarding these products they will discuss the most appropriate solution for the individual, they have created several helpful guides on sensory & sleep as parent carers themselves they do not want people spending money they don't need too and will give appropriate advice or signpost.
